GoGreen and Benue State Peace Commission Strengthen Community Peace Committees Through Learning and Adaptive Capacity Workshop

On 2 February 2026, GoGreen, in collaboration with the Benue State Peace and Reconciliation Commission, coordinated and facilitated a one-day learning and adaptive capacity workshop for both existing and newly constituted Community Peace Committee (CPC) members drawn from multiple Local Government Areas across Benue State.

The workshop was designed to strengthen the capacity of CPCs in dispute mediation, dialogue facilitation, and conflict prevention, equipping participants with practical skills and knowledge to address community conflicts in a constructive, inclusive, and sustainable manner. Special emphasis was placed on enhancing facilitation techniques for effective community dialogue and early conflict resolution.

The session also provided a valuable peer-learning platform, enabling experienced CPC members to share lessons, practical insights, and successful approaches with newly established committees. The exchange highlighted the depth of community ownership and the strong commitment of local actors to resolving peace-related challenges, recognizing that communities themselves are the primary beneficiaries of peaceful and cohesive environments.
