Advancing Community Peace and Dialogue in Tse-Akpuku, Makurdi LGA, Benue State February 18, 2025

The 2nd sessions of our CPD witnessed a new shift as we employed the #Peace #Market #Approach (PMA)—a unique model that brings together community members, leaders, farmers, herders, and stakeholders to exchange ideas, negotiate solutions, and build lasting peace.

Just like a traditional market where goods are traded, the #PMA provides a structured space where peace becomes a shared resource—nurtured, exchanged, and sustained through open and honest discussions. This approach allowed conflicting groups to address concerns, find common ground, and commit to peaceful coexistence.

Through the PMA, we strengthened trust and dialogue between farmers and herders, foster honest discussions around land use, grazing routes, and conflict resolution mechanisms and members made commitments to sustained peace efforts and continuous community engagement.
