Building Bridges for Lasting Peace in Benue State
Last week marked a powerful moment in our shared journey toward peace. In partnership with the Benue State Commission for Peace and Reconciliation, #GoGreen convened a high-level stakeholder coordination and engagement meeting on #PeaceBuilding, a space where voices of leadership, partnership, and community came together with one goal: to nurture lasting peace in Benue.
In the room were government leaders, development partners, and peace actors—including IOM Nigeria, the Nigerian Red Cross Society, the Kukah Centre, the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue, civil society organizations, and local representatives from across Benue State. Each brought unique perspectives, experiences, and commitments to the table.
Together, we reflected on the progress achieved so far, identified gaps that must be addressed, and co-designed strategies for building peace that is not only inclusive but also sustainable and locally driven. The dialogue was rich, the collaboration was genuine, and the collective determination was inspiring.
For us at #GoGreen, this gathering was more than a meeting; it was a reminder of what is possible when diverse actors choose collaboration over isolation, dialogue over silence, and unity over division. True peace is not the absence of conflict but the presence of justice, trust, and cooperation.
We remain deeply committed to fostering collaboration, dialogue, and collective action that strengthens social cohesion, heals divides, and ensures that every community in Benue State, and beyond, can thrive in peace.
The path may be long, but with hands joined and hearts aligned, a future of peace is within reach.
