Building Peaceful and Resilient Communities — Day 3

The Day 3 session of our Income Diversification Training under the Nigeria SPRiNG Programme brought together participants from the #Abinsi and #Imande-Dem communities, including persons with disabilities.
These communities have endured years of conflict and instability, losing both peace and economic opportunities.

The day’s focus was on practical agri-production and income diversification skills, with hands-on demonstrations in:
Yam and cassava flour processing
Poultry management, with emphasis on disease prevention and vaccination practices, including the control of Newcastle disease.

To deepen learning and inspire entrepreneurship, participants were grouped to develop innovative business ideas, outlining their proposed ventures, startup capital needs, and income projections. Their creativity, teamwork, and confidence reflected a growing sense of empowerment and readiness to rebuild their livelihoods.

This initiative continues to advance the Nigeria SPRiNG Programme’s mission of promoting peace and resilience through inclusive economic empowerment. By equipping people with skills and tools to generate income beyond traditional farming—often disrupted by herder-farmer conflicts—we are fostering stability, cooperation, and hope across communities.

At #GoGreen, we believe that every new skill learned is a pathway to peace, and every empowered participant is a catalyst for community transformation. Together with our partners, Tetra Tech International Development Services, and with funding from the #UK Government – UK in Nigeria, we remain steadfast in restoring livelihoods and helping communities in Benue State embrace the dawn of lasting peace.
