GoGreen Presents Benue Peacebuilding Insights at Nigeria SPRiNG Learning and Adaptation Workshop in Abuja
On 27–28 January, partners implementing the Nigeria SPRiNG Programme convened at the Abuja Continental Hotel for a Learning and Adaptation Workshop, bringing together implementing partners from across the country.
The workshop provided a dynamic platform for organizations delivering diverse peacebuilding interventions to share experiences, exchange knowledge, and reflect on lessons learned. Participants collectively identified key drivers of conflict and explored effective preventive and adaptive strategies to strengthen sustainable peace across project locations.
The GoGreen team had the privilege of presenting Benue State perspectives, highlighting progress made to date and contributing to in-depth discussions on conflict dynamics in the state. During the sessions, the farmer–herder crisis was identified as the leading driver of conflict in Benue State—an area where GoGreen has remained deeply committed, working with compassion and consistency to promote peaceful coexistence.
Our interventions are focused on enabling rural farmers to safely return to their farms, restore livelihoods, and secure a sustainable future for their families and communities. The workshop also generated key recommendations aimed at strengthening community-based peace mechanisms, enhancing resilience, and improving conflict prevention approaches across all project locations.
A major highlight of the event was the engagement between GoGreen’s CEO, Mr. Ameh Jackson, and Dr. Richard Montgomery CMG, the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, during which insights were shared on GoGreen’s work in peacebuilding, climate action, and community resilience in Benue State.
Together with partners, we continue to build peace, strengthen resilience, and support communities toward a more secure and sustainable future. At GoGreen, we are proud to be drivers of meaningful change in Benue State—working daily to nurture peace, resilience, and hope.
