Strengthening Partnerships for Sustainable Development: GoGreen Participates in Multi-Sectoral Coordination Meeting in Benue State

On October 6, 2025, GoGreen Environmental Health and Sustainability Initiatives (GoGreen), representing the Civil Society Organizations, Benue State, actively participated in the Multi-Sectoral Check-In Meeting convened by the Bureau for International Cooperation and Development (BICD) in Makurdi.

The meeting served as a vital platform for Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), development partners, and civil society representatives to share progress, address coordination challenges, and strengthen partnerships aimed at fostering sustainable development and inclusive growth across Benue State.

Throughout the engagement, discussions centered on improving synergy between government structures and non-state actors, ensuring that interventions are aligned, efficient, and responsive to the needs of communities. GoGreen used the opportunity to underscore the collective impact of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in peacebuilding, livelihood enhancement, and environmental sustainability in Benue State.

Representing the CSO community, GoGreen shared updates on its ongoing initiatives under the Nigeria SPRiNG Project, funded by the UK Government and supported by Tetra Tech International Development Services. Through SPRiNG, GoGreen has been facilitating dialogues, organizing community peace engagements, and leading capacity-building sessions that promote peaceful coexistence, strengthen social cohesion, and support sustainable livelihoods in conflict-affected communities.

GoGreen commended the Bureau for International Cooperation and Development for its leadership in creating an inclusive coordination framework that promotes collaboration among all partners, ensuring that development efforts are not duplicated but complementary and impactful.

In reaffirming its commitment, GoGreen emphasized that peace, sustainability, and development are interconnected—and achieving them requires collective action and shared responsibility. The organization remains steadfast in supporting the Benue State Government’s peacebuilding and development agenda by advancing programs that empower youths and women, enhance community resilience, and drive long-term stability through environmental health, climate action, and sustainable agriculture.

By fostering collaboration and strengthening partnerships, GoGreen and other stakeholders are laying the groundwork for a peaceful, resilient, and prosperous Benue State—one where every actor, sector, and citizen contributes meaningfully to sustainable progress.
