Project Overview

The Empowering Youth Climate Adaptation Champions (EYAC) project was implemented by GoGreen Environmental Health Sustainability Initiatives to mark the Youth Climate Adaptation Action Day on October 12, 2024, the world’s largest annual youth-led climate adaptation event.
The project was supported by the Global Centre on Adaptation (GCA) and implemented in Achusa Community, Makurdi Local Government Area of Benue State, focusing on youth leadership in climate adaptation and sustainable agriculture.

Project Goal

To empower young people as climate adaptation leaders by strengthening their knowledge, skills, and participation in climate-smart agriculture and community resilience initiatives.

  • Youth engagement and sensitization on climate change adaptation.
  • Training on climate-smart agricultural practices to enhance food security.
  • Awareness activities aligned with global youth climate movements.
  • Promotion of youth innovation and leadership in local climate action.

  • Strengthened 400 youth capacity to adopt and promote climate-smart livelihoods.
