Women at the Heart of Peacebuilding: Community Peace Dialogue Strengthens Social Cohesion in Imande-Dem

Peace is invaluable, and it becomes truly sustainable when women are meaningfully included in peacebuilding processes. This principle guided the Community Peace Dialogue Session (CPDS) held on January 14, 2026, at the Imande-Dem Community Centre, Guma LGA.

The dialogue created a safe, inclusive space for women leaders and community members to examine dry-season challenges, emerging conflict triggers, and livelihood pressures linked to environmental and resource stress. Participants openly shared lived experiences, shedding light on how seasonal dynamics continue to influence relationships, access to resources, and community stability.

Through collective reflection and facilitated dialogue, women leaders identified shared concerns, common interests, and practical entry points for peaceful coexistence. The session emphasized the importance of women-led conversations in conflict preventionpromoting social cohesion, and supporting locally driven peace efforts.

This engagement underscores the power of inclusive dialogue and reaffirms that when women lead, peace endures.
