GoGreen Participates in Benue Peace Summit and Launch of 2026–2030 Strategic Plan to Strengthen Conflict Prevention and Peace Architecture

We are honored to have participated in the Peace Summit and the official launch of the 2026–2030 Strategic Plan of the Benue State Commission for Peace and Reconciliation, held on February 25, 2026, at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Makurdi, Benue State.

The Summit was formally declared open by His Excellency Hyacinth Iormem Alia, Executive Governor of Benue State, represented by His Excellency Sam Ode, Deputy Governor of Benue State. The high-level event convened a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including international partners such as Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, Tetra Tech International Development Services, Nigeria Spring, International Organization for Migration (IOM Nigeria), and Caritas Internationalis, alongside senior government officials, security agencies, traditional and religious leaders, civil society organizations, development partners, and community representatives.

The gathering served as a strategic platform for dialogue on strengthening Benue’s peace architecture and institutionalizing coordinated mechanisms for conflict prevention, early warning, and early response systems, mediation, and reconciliation across the state.

The Summit reaffirmed the indispensable role of multi-stakeholder collaboration in achieving sustainable peace. At GoGreen, we reiterated our commitment to working closely with the Benue State Commission for Peace and Reconciliation, traditional institutions, youth and women’s groups, security actors, and development partners to strengthen community-based early warning systems, promote social cohesion, and support vulnerable populations affected by conflict.

We remain steadfast in advancing inclusive peacebuilding initiatives that contribute to a more resilient, secure, and peaceful Benue State.
